Grades 1st-5th

March is Women’s History Month. Whalers were traditionally male, but that didn’t stop some women from disguising themselves as men and joining a crew anyway. Discover the adventures and hardships these sailors experienced. Design and create disguises for your very own Victorian-style paper puppet. *Pre-registration required. Patrons will be notified when kits arrive at the library and are ready for pick-up. Access to the program will be sent the day of the program. Presented by the Cold Spring Harbor Whaling Museum.
