Harry Belafonte was a singer, actor and activist. He was one of the most successful performers of all time and a dynamic force in the civil rights movement. He studied acting with the American Negro Theatre and was the first man of color to win a Tony Award. He went on to have successes in films and on television, winning an Emmy Award in 1960. He received two Grammy Awards and the Grammy’s Lifetime Achievement Award for his musical recordings. This talk will celebrate his enormous contributions to entertainment, civil rights and humanity.
