Event Details

We’ll explore the impact that African Americans have made in distilling and brewing in this country.  The presentation will highlight some of the stories of the enslaved women and men who distilled for their owners without recognition. These incredibly gifted moonshiners and creative mixologists of the 1800s created many drinks that we still partake of today. Ms. Freeman will also spotlight current day brewers and distillers who are changing the face of spirits today.
