In this popular musical, Broadway star Don Hewes’ dancing partner leaves their team to pursue a solo career. Devastated, Don sets out to make her jealous by transforming a chance-encountered chorus girl into a star. The film stars Fred Astaire, Judy Garland, Ann Miller, and Peter Lawford, and marks the only time Astaire and Garland were paired on screen. This enjoyable musical comedy also features a fantastic Irving Berlin score, which won the 1949 Academy Award for Best Music, Scoring of a Musical Picture.
