This film, directed by Vincente Minelli, tells the story of the romantic adventures of a carefree young artist played by Gene Kelly in post-WWII Paris. French actress and dancer Leslie Caron stars as the love interest. The movie is one of MGM’s most elegant and most celebrated musicals, and earned eight Academy Award nominations, winning for six, including Best Picture. George Gershwin and Ira Gershwin composed and wrote the musical score and lyrics, featuring songs like I Got Rhythm and ‘S Wonderful.
