We’ll explore the evolution of the art of acting, from its beginnings in the silent era as an offshoot of theater to the development of “method acting” by Konstantin  Stanislavski and great American acting teachers like Lee Strasburg and Stella Adler. Through clips, we’ll examine some of the greatest performances in film history, focusing on five: Robert De Niro in Raging Bull; Marlon Brando in On The Waterfront; Meryl Streep in Sophie’s Choice; Bette Davis in All About Eve; and Daniel Day Lewis, in There Will Be Blood
