Join us in celebrating the 250th Anniversary of Jane Austen’s birth with a special screening of the 2005 adaptation of Pride and Prejudice, based on her most famous book. Jane Austen is one of the most beloved British authors of all time, and her six completed novels continue to delight readers today. Her work has inspired countless movies, television series, plays, musicals, clubs, festivals, and societies around the world. Pride and Prejudice, a period drama set in Britain in the early 19th century, tells the story of the unlikely romance that blossoms between Elizabeth Bennet and Mr. Darcy as they overcome their initial misunderstandings and biases to find true love. Starring Keira Knightley and Matthew Macfadyen, the film was nominated for four Academy Awards and is lauded for its stunning cinematography.
