Early Speech-Language-Hearing screenings look for characteristics that might identify risk for underlying disorders of learning and attention. Some benefits to early screening and possible detection include: children receiving extra help sooner and preventing them from falling behind; preventing children from being inappropriately identified as having a learning disability; or incorrectly being classified as needing special education services and supports. Screenings will be facilitated by interns from the Suny Stony Brook Southampton Graduate Speech-Pathology-Language Program. Evaluations take approximately 30 minutes per child.
*Pre-registration required. Children will be screened in the order in which they are registered.
