Join Brenda Simmons, Executive Director of the Southampton African American Museum for an intimate chat with A'Lelia Bundles, award-winning journalist and author of the biography On Her Own Ground: The Life and Times of Madam C.J. Walker, her great-great grandmother. This nonfiction work was the inspiration behind the Netflix series Self-Made, starring Octavia Spencer. Ms. Bundles will discuss her career and the research she has done on several generations of the extraordinary women in her family. As part of the celebration of the Juneteenth holiday, Ms. Bundles will be the Keynote speaker at the Southampton African American Museum on Friday, June 17.
