Aboriginal and Contemporary Art of Australia (via Zoom)

Join Professor Val Franco for a virtual look at the incredible history of the aboriginal peoples of Australia and the art that they have created through time.  We’ll cover various images from the pictographs by unknown artists thousands of years ago to the late 20th century work of Emily Kngwarreye.  The rich symbolism, mesmerizing repetition, and cultural importance found in these works, whether by contemporary 21st century artists or community elders, continue to fascinate and intrigue us today.
